Autumn / Winter 2026 — Collection No. 09
The City After Dark
Double-face wool, Mongolian cashmere and bias-cut silk — cut for the hours between last light and first.
01 — The House
Cloth first, always
We started with one wool mill in Ludhiana and a rule: buy the cloth before you design the garment. Eleven years later the mill still weaves the same 320-gram wool, and we still adjust the pattern rather than the fabric.
Buy the cloth once. Keep the mill for a decade.
Ludhiana, Punjab. Same looms, same yarn, same hand-feel.
Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala.
A small book, restated each season rather than replaced.
02 — Campaign
The City After Dark
Photographed across five cities between 8pm and 4am — Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Mohali, Patiala. No studio light. Available city light only: sodium lamps, shop windows, headlights on wet paving.
03 — Cloth
Woven uphill
Every metre of wool in this collection came off forty looms we have visited since 2015. A family mill runs a slightly irregular yarn — the sort that catches light unevenly and reads as fabric rather than as material.
- 320g RWS wool — full canvas, hand-pressed lapel
- Grade-A cashmere — 12 gauge, fully fashioned
- 22-momme mulberry silk — cut on the true bias
04 — Method
Layering is arithmetic
A wide trouser needs a compact shoulder. An oversized coat wants a narrow frame beneath it. Proportion is not a trend — it is resolved on the stand, before a single seam is closed.
- One volume event per look, everything else quiet
- Contrast texture before contrast colour
- Innermost layer invisible — no visible seams

Five categories
The book is small by design. Each category is restated every season rather than replaced, so a coat bought in 2024 still works in 2027.

08 — Our story
Made to last
Velora began in 2015 with a single coat and a stubborn idea: that a garment should be repairable, resizable and worth keeping. Everything we have added since has been measured against that one — from the poplin shirt to the silk bias dress.
We produce in small runs, keep the same four ateliers, and publish the mill and origin of every fabric we use. If a fabric cannot be traced, it does not go into the collection.
